Geocacher Badge, Part 1

The first badge I worked on was the geocacher badge.

Step one:

I went to the geocache.com website and read about geocaching and how it works. I learned about different geocaching slang. My favorite term was "FTF" which means First To Find. I want to be the first to find a geocache someday!

(We skipped step two and will come back to that in a later post!)

Step three:

I made trade items for the geocache.  I talk about them in this video:

Step 4:

Then we went on a geocaching hiking adventure. We went on two geocaches at Tribble Mill Park. Here are some photos from our hike.

Here I am looking at the items in the geocache. Another girl scout troop left something!

The second cache was in a dead tree trunk!

I kept these binoculars!

Here I am writing my name in the logbook.

Then I put it back for someone else to find!

Here's a short interview I did with my Mom about geocaching.

I will also talk about step five in my next post!
